Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental and prediction of sintered Cu–W composite by using artificial neural networks

TL;DR: In this article, neural networks are employed to study the tribological behavior of sintered Cu and W composites, and the predicted values from the proposed networks coincide with the experimental values.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of sulphate ions on the formation of calcareous deposits on steel in artificial seawater; the formation of Green Rust compounds during cathodic protection

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of sulphate ions on the kinetics and mechanisms of formation of calcareous deposits forming on the steel surface was studied, and it was demonstrated that sulphate ion had an important effect on the formation of both Ca (II)- and Mg(II)-containing phases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effectiveness of sulfate-reducing passive bioreactors for treating highly contaminated acid mine drainage: I. Effect of hydraulic retention time

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of two hydraulic retention times (HRTs) of 7.3 and 10d on the performance of passive bioreactors was evaluated over an 11-month period for the treatment of a highly contaminated AMD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fracture properties of nanographene reinforced EPON 862 thermoset polymer system

TL;DR: In this article, the differences in fracture properties (stress intensity factors and energy release rates) of nanocomposites of thermosetting polymer EPON 862 and its nano-graphene reinforced counterparts were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the developmental and reproductive toxicity of methoxychlor using an anuran (Xenopus tropicalis) chronic exposure model.

TL;DR: Results from these studies suggested that methoxychlor was capable of altering the rate of larval development, but did not adversely affect early embryo-larval development (2 days of exposure) as manifested in external malformations.
