TLDR
An action-angle representation of spin variables was used to relate the large-S Heisenberg antiferromagnet to the O(3) nonlinear sigma model quantum field theory, with precise equivalence for integral S as discussed by the authors.

New haldane gap system confirmed from high-field magnetization

TL;DR: In this paper, high-field magnetization measurements are performed on powder samples of the quasi-one-dimensional S = 1 antiferromagnets, NiC 2 O 4 2L (L=2-methylimidazole and 1, 2-dimethylimidsazole) up to 36 Tesla at 1.7 K and 4.2 K, indicating a clear evidence for the existence of the non-magnetic ground state and magnetic excited state.

First-order phase transition in the S = 1 quantum spin chain with partial integrability

TL;DR: In this article, the zero-temperature magnetization curve of the S = 1 antiferromagnetic XXZ chain with partial integrability was studied by the Bethe ansatz, combined with a numerical renormalization-group method.

Néel and disordered phases of coupled Heisenberg chains with S = ½ to S = 4

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the two-step density-matrix renormalization group method to study the effects of frustration in Heisenberg models for S = ½ to 4 in a two-dimensional anisotropic lattice.

One-dimensional fermions with incommensuration

TL;DR: In this article, the spectrum of fermions hopping on a chain with a weak incommensuration close to dimerization was studied, and it was shown that a nonzero value of q is necessary to close the gap.

Self-consistent mean-field theory for spin 1 and spin 1/2 ferrimagnetic chain

TL;DR: In this paper, the ground states of the quantum ferrimagnetic chain were studied using the self-consistent mean field theory (SDFT) method, and the gap between the two excitation branches, the spin reduction and the spin fluctuation at T = 0 K was calculated.

Integrable Hamiltonian systems and interactions through quadratic constraints

TL;DR: In this article, the relativistic field theories in one time and one space dimension with interactions that are entirely due to quadratic constraints are shown to be closely related to integrable Hamiltonian systems.

Interaction of Goldstone Particles in Two-Dimensions. Applications to Ferromagnets and Massive Yang-Mills Fields

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that due to interaction the regime of the asymmptotic freedom arises and the continuation to higher dimensions and the applications of the result are briefly discussed.

What is the spin of a spin wave

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the spin of a spin wave in the Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain of spins 1 2 is equal to 1 2 rather than 1 as is generally considered to be true.
