Structural diversity of a series of chlorocadmate(II) and chlorocuprate(II) complexes based on benzylamine and its N-methylated derivatives
Yu Jin,Chun-Hua Yu,Wen Zhang +2 more
TL;DR: Protonated benzylamine and its N-methylated derivatives, [C6H5CH2NH3−n(CH3)n]+ (n = 0−3), have been adopted as cations in chlorocadmate(II) and chlorocuprate (II) complexes, showing inorganic-organic hybrid architectures.
Journal ArticleDOI
[Hg(μ-4,4′-bipy)(μ-AcO)(AcO)]n · n/2H2O, one-dimensional double-chain coordination polymer, syntheses, characterization, thermal, fluorescence, porous and structural studies
TL;DR: In this paper, a new Hg II coordination polymer with 4,4′-bipyridine and acetate anions was synthesized, characterized by elemental analysis, IR-, 1 H NMR-, 13 C NMR spectroscopy and its structure determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aromatic ring–aliphatic ring stacking in organic crystal structures
TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of crystal structures of organic molecules shows that there is strong evidence of stacking of aromatic rings and aliphatic rings and this packing motif may provide a fundamental stabilising interaction in crystal structure formation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transition metal vinylidene complexes as supramolecular building blocks: nucleobase-mediated self-assembly of crystals with hexagonal symmetry.
TL;DR: In solution the (1)H and (31)P{( 1)H} NMR spectra of the vinylidene complexes are both concentration and temperature dependent, in accord with the presence of monomer-dimer equilibria in which the rate of rotation of the Vinylidene group is fast on the NMR timescale in the monomeric species, but slow in the dimers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reversible gas–solid reactions between the organometallic zwitterion [CoIII(η5-C5H4COOH)(η5-C5H4COO)] and vapours of difluoro- and chloro-acetic acids
TL;DR: In this article, a powder diffraction of 2-[CHF2COO] and an anhydrous 2]-CH2ClCOOH for X-ray diffraction was obtained.

The Protein Data Bank: a computer-based archival file for macromolecular structures.
Frances C. Bernstein,Thomas F. Koetzle,Graheme J. B. Williams,Edgar F. Meyer,Michael D. Brice,John R. Rodgers,O. Kennard,Takehiko Shimanouchi,Mitsuo Tasumi +8 more
TL;DR: The Protein Data Bank is a computer-based archival file for macromolecular structures that stores in a uniform format atomic co-ordinates and partial bond connectivities, as derived from crystallographic studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Patterns in Hydrogen Bonding: Functionality and Graph Set Analysis in Crystals
TL;DR: In this article, a review of the most promising systematic approaches to resolving this enigma was initially developed by the late M. C. Etter, who applied graph theory to recognize, and then utilize, patterns of hydrogen bonding for the understanding and design of molecular crystals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Supramolecular Synthons in Crystal Engineering—A New Organic Synthesis
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that crystal engineering is a new organic synthesis, and that rather than being only nominally relevant to organic chemistry, this subject is well within the mainstream, being surprisingly similar to traditional organic synthesis in concept.
Journal ArticleDOI
Encoding and decoding hydrogen-bond patterns of organic compounds
Journal ArticleDOI
Perspectives in Supramolecular Chemistry—From Molecular Recognition towards Molecular Information Processing and Self‐Organization
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a self-assembly approach for the generation of a well-defined supramolecular architecture by self-assembling from their components under a given set of conditions.
