TLDR
The European Consortium for Astroparticle Theory (EuCAPT) white paper as mentioned in this paper explores upcoming theoretical opportunities and challenges for our field of research with particular emphasis on the possible synergies among different subfields, and the prospects for solving the most fundamental open questions with multi-messenger observations.Abstract:
Astroparticle physics is undergoing a profound transformation, due to a series of extraordinary new results, such as the discovery of high-energy cosmic neutrinos with IceCube, the direct detection of gravitational waves with LIGO and Virgo, and many others. This white paper is the result of a collaborative effort that involved hundreds of theoretical astroparticle physicists and cosmologists, under the coordination of the European Consortium for Astroparticle Theory (EuCAPT). Addressed to the whole astroparticle physics community, it explores upcoming theoretical opportunities and challenges for our field of research, with particular emphasis on the possible synergies among different subfields, and the prospects for solving the most fundamental open questions with multi-messenger observations.read more

The Observation of Gravitational Waves from a Binary Black Hole Merger
TL;DR: The first direct detection of gravitational waves and the first observation of a binary black hole merger were reported in this paper, with a false alarm rate estimated to be less than 1 event per 203,000 years, equivalent to a significance greater than 5.1σ.

Bow-Shock Pulsar Wind Nebulae Searches Aided by the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves
Christos Giannakopoulos,Timothy Dolch,Shami Chatterjee,James M. Cordes,T. Joseph W. Lazio,Schuyler Van Dyk,Laura Salo +6 more
TL;DR: The North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOW) is a collaboration of researchers who are actively engaged in using North American radio telescopes to detect and study gravitational waves (GWs) via pulsar timing.
Oscillons after Inflation
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that in a class of well-motivated single-field models, inflation is followed by self resonance, leading to copious oscillon generation and a lengthy period of oscillon domination.
A Reverse Shock in GRB 130427A
Tanmoy Laskar,Edo Berger,B. Ashley Zauderer,Raffaella Margutti,Alicia M. Soderberg,Ragnhild Lunnan,Ryan Chornock +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present extensive radio and millimeter observations of the unusually bright GRB-130427A at z = 0.340, spanning 0.67-12 days after the burst.

A response to O. Arandjelovic's critique of "The reproducibility of research and the misinterpretation of p-values"
TL;DR: The main criticism of my piece in this article seems to be that my calculations rely on testing a point null hypothesis, i.e. the hypothesis that the true effect size is zero.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the behavior of these infrared effects in the large N limit of an O(N)-invariant scalar field theory with quartic self-interactions.

Galactic winds driven by isotropic and anisotropic cosmic ray diffusion in disk galaxies
TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution simulations of isolated disk galaxies in a 1011 M ⊙ halo with the moving-mesh code Arepo were discussed, and it was shown that isotropic diffusion strongly suppresses the amplification of the magnetic field in the disk compared to no diffusion models.

TL;DR: The MiniBooNE experiment at Fermilab reported a total excess of 638.0±132.8 electron-like events (4.8σ) from a data sample corresponding to 18.75×1020 protons-on-target in neutrino mode, which is a 46% increase in the data sample with respect to previously published results.

Dark Matter and neutrino masses from global U (1) B - L symmetry breaking
TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered neutrino mass generation via the Zee-Babu two-loop mechanism, augmented by a scalar singlet whose VEV breaks the global U ( 1 ) B − L symmetry.

Primordial Black Holes from Inflation and non-Gaussianity
TL;DR: In this paper, the exact mass fraction of primordial black holes at formation in the presence of non-Gaussianity was derived for single-field inflation and the other on spectator fields.
