Formation of self-extinguishing flame retardant biobased coating on cotton fabrics via Layer-by-Layer assembly of chitin derivatives

TLDR
Thermogravimetric analysis result indicated that thermal and thermal oxidation stability of all coated cotton fabrics were enhanced in the high temperature range (400-700°C), and microcombustion calorimetry result showed that all coatedotton fabrics showed lower peak heat-release rate and total heat- release values compared with that of the pure one.

Eco-friendly flame retardant and electromagnetic interference shielding cotton fabrics with multi-layered coatings

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors designed an eco-friendly flame retardant and EMI shielding cotton fabric, where the cotton fabric served as the skeleton and the polyethylenimine/phytic acid (PEI/PA) layer as well as silver nanowires (AgNWs) conductive networks are formed on the surface of cotton fibers through layer-by-layer assembled technology and dip-coating method, which is due to the strong electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding effect.
