Journal ArticleDOI

TRP channels in Drosophila photoreceptors: the lipid connection

TL;DR: The most compelling evidence for this view comes from analysis of rdgA mutants which are unable to effectively metabolise DAG due to a defect in DAG kinase, which leads to constitutive activation of both TRP and TRPL channels and dramatically increases sensitivity to light in hypomorphic mutations of PLC and G protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protein-protein interaction in purple membrane.

TL;DR: Experimental evidence for a long-range protein-protein interaction in purple membrane (PM) is presented and the effective spring constant for the interaction between neighboring protein trimers is determined to be k = 53 N/m.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel fragment based strategy for membrane active antimicrobials against MRSA.

TL;DR: The model provides a novel and rational approach for the design of bactericidal molecules that target the bacterial membrane and matches the structures of several membrane active antimicrobials which are currently in clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sugar transport through maltoporin of Escherichia coli. Role of polar tracks.

TL;DR: The results clearly demonstrate the importance of the polar track residues on both on and off rates in sugar transport and reveal a strong cooperative effect of hydrogen bond formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interplay of time-delayed feedback control and temporally correlated noise in excitable systems

TL;DR: Application of delayed feedback control to the coloured noise-driven subsystem is shown to change coherence and time scales of noise-induced oscillations in both systems, and to enhance or suppress stochastic synchronization under certain conditions.
