Identification of the post-necking hardening behaviour of sheet metal by comparison of the internal and external work in the necking zone

TLDR
In this paper, an alternative method to identify the post-necking hardening behavior of sheet metal without using a finite element model is presented, where the key point is the minimization of the discrepancy between the internal and external work in the necking zone during a tensile test.

Identification of Post-Necking Hardening Phenomena in Ductile Sheet Metal

TL;DR: A combined theoretical/experimental approach accurately quantifying post-necking hardening phenomena in ductile sheet materials that initially exhibit diffuse necking in tension is presented in this paper, based on the minimization of the discrepancy between the internal and external work in the necking zone during a quasi-static tensile test.
