Accessibility impacts of China’s high-speed rail network

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper used accessibility analysis for quantifying the impact of China's high-speed rail (HSR) network, which not only offers a new option for travelers' mode choice, but also may influence, or even generate, the redistribution of demographic and economic activities.

Disparities in neighborhood food environments: implications of measurement strategies.

TL;DR: It was found that adjusting for vehicle ownership and crime tended to increase measured disparities in access to supermarkets by neighborhood race/ethnicity and income, while adjusting for public transit and traffic safety tended to narrow these disparities.

Hierarchical Grouping to Optimize an Objective Function

TL;DR: In this paper, a procedure for forming hierarchical groups of mutually exclusive subsets, each of which has members that are maximally similar with respect to specified characteristics, is suggested for use in large-scale (n > 100) studies when a precise optimal solution for a specified number of groups is not practical.
