Parameter Sizing of Hybrid Energy Storage System for Hybrid Electric Vehicle

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the analysis power and energy requirements of energy storage system and influences by the drive cycle, and showed that the hybrid energy storage source which is made up of battery and ultracapacitor can meet the double requirements for energy and power in the operation process of HEV.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

An improved energy management strategy for a Battery/Ultracapacitor Hybrid Energy Storage System in Electric Vehicles

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a more rigorous method of setting the target UC energy level using a speed-dependent band, which allows the UC to contain sufficient energy for future accelerations, and have sufficient capacity to store energy from future regenerative braking.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and development of split-parallel through-the road retrofit hybrid electric vehicle with in-wheel motors

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe design of a retrofit-conversion TTR-IWM hybrid vehicle and its sub-systems and development work, operating modes and power flow of TTR hybrid, its torque coupling and resultant traction profiles are initially discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of Drive Cycle-Based Traction Motor Design Strategies Using Gradient Optimisation

TL;DR: In this article , two design optimization methods are evaluated using gradient-based optimisation for electric vehicle traction applications, namely the point-based method and the flux mapping method, with a focus on flux mapping procedure, where an inner optimisation loop is defined in order to maintain the stability of gradient calculation for the gradientbased optimization.
Journal ArticleDOI
