Design and Comparison of Power Systems for a Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle

TL;DR: In this paper a design method to design the power system of a FCHEV is presented and it is concluded that when ultracapacitors are the only energy storage device the system becomes too big and heavy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reducing auxiliary energy consumption of heavy trucks by onboard prediction and real-time optimization

TL;DR: In this article, a model predictive controller (MPC) is integrated into a dSPACE MicroAutoBox and tested on a truck on a public road to minimize the auxiliary energy consumption of the cooling system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rule-based power distribution in the power train of a parallel hybrid tractor for fuel savings

TL;DR: In this article, a power split ratio strategy for improving fuel consumption in a parallel hybrid tractor is demonstrated through a simulation model of a power train, and vehicle performance values which include certain operating points and fuel consumption between a hybrid and a case of control of the traction power source for traction improvement are compared and analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensorless induction motor drive for electric vehicle application

TL;DR: In this paper, an electric vehicle drive with a robust and low cost alternating current (AC) induction motor is presented, which is applied to an existing commercial utility electric vehicle where previously used direct current (DC) series motor was replaced by the new AC induction motor.
