TLDR
All carbon aerogels with ultralow density and temperature-invariant super-elasticity are fabricated by facile assembling of commercial carbon nanotubes and chemically-converted giant graphene sheets, on the basis of the synergistic effect between elastic CNTs ribs and giant graphene cell walls.
Abstract
All carbon aerogels (up to 1000 cm(3)) with ultralow density (down to 0.16 mg cm(-3)) and temperature-invariant (-190-900 °C) super-elasticity are fabricated by facile assembling of commercial carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and chemically-converted giant graphene sheets, on the basis of the synergistic effect between elastic CNTs ribs and giant graphene cell walls.

Highly conductive phase change composites enabled by vertically-aligned reticulated graphite nanoplatelets for high-temperature solar photo/electro-thermal energy conversion, harvesting and storage

TL;DR: In this article, a synergetic strategy for synthesizing scalable highly conductive phase change composites (PCCs) and tailoring thermal transports by aligning self-assembled large-size reticulated graphite nanoplatelets (RGNPs) inside PCCs was proposed.

Wet-spinning of continuous montmorillonite-graphene fibers for fire-resistant lightweight conductors

TL;DR: A wet-spinning strategy to achieve continuous all-inorganic fibers of montmorillonite nanoplatelets by incorporation of a graphene oxide (GO) liquid crystal (LC) template at a rate of 9 cm/s is developed, and the templating role of GO LC is confirmed by in situ confocal laser scanning microscopy and polarized optical microscopy inspections.

Reconstruction of Inherent Graphene Oxide Liquid Crystals for Large-Scale Fabrication of Structure-Intact Graphene Aerogel Bulk toward Practical Applications

TL;DR: By developing a surfactant-foaming sol-gel method to effectively disrupt and reconstruct the inherent GO LCs via microbubbles as templates, this work achieves the large-size and structure-intact graphene hydrogel bulk (GHB) and modified GAB (GABTP), both suitable for practical applications.

Foam structures with a negative poisson's ratio

TL;DR: A novel foam structure is presented, which exhibits a negative Poisson's ratio, and such a material expands laterally when stretched, in contrast to ordinary materials.
