Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxicity of functionalized polystyrene latex nanoparticles toward lactic acid bacteria, and comparison with model microbes

TL;DR: The cytotoxicity and colloidal behavior of surface-functionalized polystyrene latex (PSL) nanoparticles (NPs) toward a model gram positive bacterium Lactococcus lactis JCM 5805 indicated that the cells were damaged by the cell disruption that resulted from the adhesion of the NPs to the cell surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intravesical delivery of 5‐aminolevulinic acid from water‐in‐oil nano/submicron‐emulsion systems

TL;DR: Water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions for the intravesical administration of 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) provide a significant advantage for drugs targeting bladder tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conjugates of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) with carminic acid: Synthesis, generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and biological evaluation.

TL;DR: It is found that the CA-GnRH conjugates preserved the bioactivity of GnRH as illustrated by their capability to induce ERK phosphorylation and LH release, and used electron spin resonance (ESR) and spin trapping techniques to study the light-stimulated redox properties of CA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solid Lipid Nanoparticles Containing Nimesulide: Preparation, Characterization and Cytotoxicity Studies

TL;DR: These SLN containing nimesulide show good loading capacity and drug release profile, and an in vitro antitumour activity comparable to free drug, and the antiproliferative effect of drug-loaded SLN versus free drug on HT-29 and SW-480 cell lines was here evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Brain targeted delivery of sumatriptan succinate loaded chitosan nanoparticles: Preparation, In vitro characterization, and (Neuro-)pharmacokinetic evaluations

TL;DR: Neuropharmacokinetic evaluations of the polymeric nanoparticles represent a suitable brain delivery system and the high DTP value for nanoparticles confirms the satisfactory entrance of the drug into the higher parts of the brain.
