TLDR
A Nomenclature Committee composed of geneticists and immunologists, including specialists in tissue typing, has met after each of the Histocompatibility Workshops beginning with the Third Workshop in 1967 and met after the Sixth Workshop in Aarhus in July 1975.Abstract:
The Nomenclature Committee for Factors of the HLA System of the World Health Organization standardizes the nomenclature of the HLA system and meets regularly during the International Histocompatibility Workshops. During the 15th International Histocompatibility Workshop in Buzios (RJ), Brazil, in September 2008, there was a meeting of the nomenclature committee when new rules were established, which were implemented in April 2010.read more

James Robinson,Matthew J. Waller,Peter Parham,Natasja G. de Groot,Ronald E. Bontrop,Lorna J. Kennedy,Peter Stoehr,Steven G.E. Marsh +7 more
TL;DR: The IMGT/HLA database has grown and is the primary source of information for the study of sequences of the human major histocompatibilty complex and the HLA sequences have been extended to include intron sequences and the 3' and 5' untranslated regions in the alignments.

TL;DR: The analysis provides informative tag SNPs that capture much of the common variation in the MHC region and that could be used in disease association studies, and it provides new insight into the evolutionary dynamics and ancestral origins of the HLA loci and their haplotypes.
