TLDR
The relative fluorescence intensity of the paclitaxel-bound HSA decreased, suggesting that perturbation around the Trp 214 residue took place, and this was confirmed by the destabilization of the warfarin binding site, which includes Trp214, and high affinity bilirubin binding sites located in subdomain IIA.

Challenges in Development of Nanoparticle-Based Therapeutics

Neil P. Desai
- 10 Mar 2012 -
TL;DR: Challenges likely to be encountered during the development and approval of nanoparticle-based therapeutics are summarized, and potential strategies for drug developers and regulatory agencies to accelerate the growth of this important field are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Binding analysis of glycyrrhetinic acid to human serum albumin: fluorescence spectroscopy, FTIR, and molecular modeling.

TL;DR: Thermodynamic analysis and computational modeling indicated that GEA could bind to the site I of HSA and hydrophobic interaction was the major acting force for the second type of binding site, which was in agreement with the thermodynamic analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of the interaction between icariin and human serum albumin by fluorescence spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the interaction between icariin and human serum albumin (HSA) in physiological buffer (pH 7.4) was investigated by fluorescence and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy.

Structure of serum albumin.

TL;DR: This chapter provides an insight of the findings of past significant papers with the current knowledge of the recently determined high resolution X-ray structure of serum albumin and suggests that AFP may have a higher affinity for some unknown ligands important for fetal development.

Further characterization of specific drug binding sites on human serum albumin.

TL;DR: The specificity of the sites for particular drugs, even at high drug to albumin ratios, was established, and the specificity and characteristics of the two sites on human adult and neonatal sera were shown to be similar to those on crystalline HSA.
