Principles of polymer engineering
TLDR
In this article, the elastic properties of polymeric solids and their properties of rubber are discussed. But they focus on the structure of the molecule rather than the properties of the solids.Abstract:
Introduction. 1: Structure of the molecule. 2: Structure of polymeric solids. 3: The elastic properties of rubber. 4: Viscoelasticity. 5: Yield and fracture. 6: Reinforced polymers. 7: Forming. 8: Design. Further reading, Answers, Indexread more

Effects of high speed in the drilling of glass whisker-reinforced polyamide composites (PA66 GF30): statistical analysis of the roughness parameters
J. Campos Rubio,Túlio Hallak Panzera,Alexandre Mendes Abrão,Paulo Eustáquio de Faria,J. Paulo Davim +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to achieve the required tolerances and stiffness for automotive applications using glass fiber-reinforced polyamides, a promising material especially for automotive application, exhibiting high mechanical strength and stiffness.

High-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of crystalline and amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate): a study of biaxially oriented film, spin cast film and polymer melt
TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution monochromated X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (X.p.s.) was used to study poly(ethylene terephthalate (PET) as biaxially oriented crystalline film, spin cast amorphous film and polyamide polymer melt.

Optimum creep lifetime of Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) tube using rheological creep constitutive models based on experimental data
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the creep behavior of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) at different temperatures (30, 40 and 50°C) and stress levels and found that the generalized time hardening model, which has extensive applications in commercial softwares, predicts the creep behaviour of PMMA at higher stress levels but deviates from the experimental results at lower stress levels.

Processing and properties of mineral‐interfaced cellulose fibre composites
Mats Thunwall,Antal Boldizar,Mikael Rigdahl,Karl Banke,Tom Lindström,Helena Tufvesson,Stefan Högman +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the combination of the mineral treatment with a debonding agent appeared to be an interesting route to obtain a visually very good dispersion of the fibres in the PP-based matrix, partly at the expense of the mechanical performance.

Elastic properties of thermoplastic elastomers based on poly(tetramethylene oxide) and monodisperse amide segments
TL;DR: In this paper, the elastic properties of thermoplastic elastomers based on poly(tetramethylene oxide) and monodisperse amide hard segments (HS) were studied in compression and tensile mode as well as with stress relaxation (SR) measurements.
