Removal of cr(vi) from alkaline aqueous solutions using chemically modified magnetic chitosan resins

Khalid Z. Elwakeel
- 01 Jan 2010 -
TL;DR: Chitosan was crosslinked using glutaraldehyde in the presence of magnetite, and the resin obtained was chemically modified through the reaction with tetraethylenepentamine followed by glycidyl trimethylammonium chlorid to produce chitosans bearing amine (R1) and quaternary ammonium chloride moieties (R2), respectively as discussed by the authors.

Synthesis and Characterisation of Novel-Activated Carbon from Waste Biomass Pine Cone and Its Application in the Removal of Congo Red Dye from Aqueous Solution by Adsorption

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of activation parameters such as the concentration of phosphoric acid and temperature were identified as the most efficient parameters for activation in the removal of anionic dye Congo red from aqueous solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of activated carbons from agricultural residues for pesticide adsorption

TL;DR: It is revealed that corn cobs showed better adsorption capacity than the other biomass ACs, and comparison among ACs from biomass and commercial ones revealed that the first can be equally effective for the removal of BP from water with the latter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) from water using microwave-assisted synthesized maghemite nanotubes

TL;DR: In this paper, Maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) nanotubes were synthesized by microwave irradiation method and were used for the removal of Cu2+, Zn2+ and Pb2+ from water.

Heavy metal ions retention by bi-functionalized lignin: Synthesis, applications, and adsorption mechanisms

TL;DR: In this paper, a bi-functionalized lignin with amino and sulfonic groups (ASL) was synthesized via Mannich reaction and sulfomethylation.

Kinetics of Soil Chemical Processes

TL;DR: The application of chemical kinetics to soil systems is discussed in this paper, where the authors present a model of Inorganic and Organic Reactions in Soils, as well as the mechanisms of Rapid Reactions on Soil Constituents using Relaxation Methods.
