Response to Tracy's under the "big tent": establishing universal criteria for evaluating qualitative research

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider Tracy's proposal for universal criteria to judge the goodness of qualitative studies, and explore her criteria by applying them to our own work and conclude that Tracy's criteria are useful because they are universal but not fixed and build on her thinking to foreground ethics as an overarching framework for criteria rather than a standalone category.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify characteristics of the interaction between innovative context-based materials and teachers that hinder or facilitate classroom implementation as intended by the designers, and demonstrate that a crucial aspect of CHiK, that of taking students' questions and using them as an orientation as the "focal event" for the following lessons, was difficult to implement.
