Rad51 Protein Controls Rad52-mediated DNA Annealing

TLDR
Regulation of Rad52-mediated annealing suggests a control function for Rad51 in deciding the recombination path taken for a processed DNA break; the ssDNA can be directed to either Rad51-mediated DNA strand invasion or to Rad 52- mediated DNA annealed.

Purification And Characterization Of Proteins Important For Homologous Recombination In Eukaryotes

TL;DR: The purification of Trypanosoma brucei 7 BRC repeats rendered this protein highly soluble and stable based on circular dichroism spectroscopy which revealed the protein having poly-proline structure, a characteristic of unordered proteins.

TL;DR: This thesis describes the establishment of an immunofluorescence-based assay that monitors end resection by quantitative image-based cytometry (QIBC) and demonstrates that ZNF335 promotes DSB repair by HR through the enhancement of DNAend resection.

Role and regulation of homologous recombination in response to DNA double strand breaks and replication stress in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Partner Choice in Spontaneous Mitotic Recombination in Wild Type and Homologous Recombination Mutants of Candida albicans.

TL;DR: The specific sizes of Chr6 truncations suggest that the inserted URA-blaster could represent a fragile site, and the type and frequency of mechanisms underlying direct repeat recombination varied greatly.

Investigation of mechanisms that suppress non-allelic homologous recombination

TL;DR: The types of repetitive sequences seen in eukaryotic genomes are outlined and how recombination mechanisms are regulated at the DNA sequence, cell organization, chromatin structure, and cell cycle control levels to prevent chromosomal rearrangements involving these sequences are outlined.

Choreography of the DNA damage response: Spatiotemporal relationships among checkpoint and repair proteins

DNA helicase Srs2 disrupts the Rad51 presynaptic filament

TL;DR: The role of SRS2 in recombination modulation is clarified by purifying its encoded product and examining its interactions with the Rad51 recombinase, and it is shown that Srs2 acts by dislodging Rad51 from ssDNA.
