Sample size and optimal designs for reliability studies

A method is developed to calculate the required number of subjects k in a reliability study, where reliability is measured using the intraclass correlation rho. The method is based on a functional approximation to earlier exact results. The approximation is shown to have excellent agreement with the exact results and one can use it easily without intensive numerical computation. Optimal design configurations are also discussed; for reliability values of about 40 per cent or higher, use of two or three observations per subject will minimize the total number of observations required.read more

Influence of magnification and superimposition of structures on cephalometric diagnosis
Leonardo Koerich de Paula,Priscilla de Almeida Solon-de-Mello,Claudia Trindade Mattos,Antônio Carlos de Oliveira Ruellas,Eduardo Franzotti Sant'Anna +4 more
TL;DR: Superimposition of structures seemed to influence the results more than magnification, and neither one of them significantly influenced the measurements.

TL;DR: The two 6MWT configurations had excellent relative and absolute test-retest reliability, but the results from each configuration do not agree sufficiently to make them interchangeable or directly comparable.

Test-Retest Reliability of the Short-Form Survivor Unmet Needs Survey.
TL;DR: The results indicate the new 30-item short-form version of the Survivor Unmet Needs Survey is responsive to the changing needs of lymphoma cancer survivors and mixed test–retest reliability of the SF-SUNS was established.
