Journal ArticleDOI

Hill function-based models of transcriptional switches: impact of specific, nonspecific, functional and nonfunctional binding.

TL;DR: It is shown that the nonlinearity of the transcriptional response as a function of [TF] exacerbates the effect of a decrease in the latter, at least for weakly expressed TFs, and minimalist models of transcription control are explored.
Journal ArticleDOI

Respiration in the eastern water dragon, Physignathus lesueurii (agamidae)

TL;DR: The results are considered with a view to anticipating the efficiency of the gas exchange system of this species under conditions of variable temperature and during diving.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biochemical and Kinetic Characterization of Xylulose 5-Phosphate/Fructose 6-Phosphate Phosphoketolase 2 (Xfp2) from Cryptococcus neoformans

TL;DR: This study provides valuable insight into the metabolic role of Xfp within fungi, specifically the fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans, and suggests that at least some Xfps display substrate cooperative binding and allosteric regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dopamine on activation of rat striatal adenylate cyclase by free Mg2+ and guanyl nucleotides.

TL;DR: Dopamine stimulates striatal adenylate cyclase by increasing the affinity for free Mg2+ and guanyl nucleotide and by increasing maximal velocity, and it is concluded that GTP is the physiological guanylylimidodiphosphate responsible for stimulation of striatalAdenylates cyclase.
