Air-Stable n-Doping of WSe2 by Anion Vacancy Formation with Mild Plasma Treatment
Mahmut Tosun,Leslie Chan,Matin Amani,Tania Roy,Geun Ho Ahn,Peyman Taheri,Carlo Carraro,Joel W. Ager,Roya Maboudian,Ali Javey +9 more
TL;DR: This work demonstrates that defect engineering at the contact regions can be utilized as a reliable scheme to realize high-performance electronic and optoelectronic TMDC devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hole contacts on transition metal dichalcogenides: interface chemistry and band alignments.
Stephen McDonnell,Angelica Azcatl,Rafik Addou,Cheng Gong,Corsin Battaglia,Steven Chuang,Kyeongjae Cho,Ali Javey,Robert M. Wallace +8 more
TL;DR: A Mo(5+) rich interface region is identified and is proposed to explain the similar low hole Schottky barriers reported in a recent device study utilizing MoOx contacts on MoS2 and WSe2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of 3D Printing for Smart Objects with Embedded Electronic Sensors and Systems
Hiroki Ota,Hiroki Ota,Sam Emaminejad,Yuji Gao,Allan Zhao,Eric Wu,Samyuktha Challa,Kevin Chen,Kevin Chen,Hossain M. Fahad,Hossain M. Fahad,Amit K. Jha,Daisuke Kiriya,Daisuke Kiriya,Wei Gao,Wei Gao,Hiroshi Shiraki,Hiroshi Shiraki,Kazuhito Morioka,Adam R. Ferguson,Kevin E. Healy,Ronald W. Davis,Ali Javey,Ali Javey +23 more
TL;DR: Applications of a 3D printing process that integrates liquid-state printed components and interconnects with IC chips in all three dimensions, various orientations, and multiple printing layers to deliver personalized system-level functionalities are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnesium Fluoride Electron-Selective Contacts for Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells
Yimao Wan,Chris Samundsett,James Bullock,James Bullock,Thomas Allen,Mark Hettick,Di Yan,Peiting Zheng,Xinyu Zhang,Jie Cui,Josephine McKeon,Ali Javey,Andres Cuevas +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that electrodes functionalized with thin magnesium fluoride films significantly improve the performance of silicon solar cells, allowing the demonstration of a 20.1%-efficient c-Si solar cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ballistic InAs nanowire transistors.
Steven Chuang,Qun Gao,Rehan Kapadia,Alexandra C. Ford,Alexandra C. Ford,Jing Guo,Ali Javey,Ali Javey +7 more
TL;DR: Ballistic transport of electrons at room temperature in top-gated InAs nanowire (NW) transistors is experimentally observed and theoretically examined and the mean free path is found to be independent of temperature due to the dominant role of surface roughness scattering.
