Journal ArticleDOI
Smart Actuators and Adhesives for Reconfigurable Matter.
Hyunhyub Ko,Ali Javey +1 more
TL;DR: Focused areas of smart materials are reviewed with special emphasis on the material and device structure designs to enhance the response time, reversibility, multistimuli responsiveness, and smart adhesion for efficient shape transformation and functional actuations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Defective TiO2 with high photoconductive gain for efficient and stable planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells.
Yanbo Li,Jason K. Cooper,Wenjun Liu,Carolin M. Sutter-Fella,Matin Amani,Matin Amani,Jeffrey W. Beeman,Ali Javey,Joel W. Ager,Joel W. Ager,Yi Liu,Francesca M. Toma,Ian D. Sharp +12 more
TL;DR: Under continuous operation near the maximum power point, an efficiency of over 15.4% is demonstrated for 100 h and the reduced photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 layer leads to enhanced long-term stability for the planar devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lithium Fluoride Based Electron Contacts for High Efficiency n-Type Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells
James Bullock,James Bullock,James Bullock,Peiting Zheng,Quentin Jeangros,Mahmut Tosun,Mahmut Tosun,Mark Hettick,Mark Hettick,Carolin M. Sutter-Fella,Carolin M. Sutter-Fella,Yimao Wan,Thomas Allen,Di Yan,Daniel Macdonald,Stefaan De Wolf,Aïcha Hessler-Wyser,Andres Cuevas,Ali Javey,Ali Javey +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple and robust process is demonstrated for achieving mΩ cm2 scale contact resistivities on lightly doped n-type crystalline silicon (c-Si) via a lithium fluoride/aluminum contact.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Assessment of silicon MOS and carbon nanotube FET performance limits using a general theory of ballistic transistors
Jing Guo,Supriyo Datta,Mark Lundstrom,Markus Brink,Paul L. McEuen,Ali Javey,Hongjie Dai,Hyoungsub Kim,Paul C. McIntyre +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple model for ballistic nanotransistors, which extends previous work by treating both the charge control and the quantum capacitance limits of MOSFET-like transistors, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low-Resistance Electrical Contact to Carbon Nanotubes With Graphitic Interfacial Layer
Yang Chai,Arash Hazeghi,Kuniharu Takei,Hong-Yu Chen,Philip C. H. Chan,Ali Javey,Hon-Sum Philip Wong +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a graphitic interfacial layer catalyzed by a Ni layer was used to improve the electrical contact between carbon nanotubes and metal, and the capping metal and Ni catalyst were selectively removed and replaced with new metal pads without further annealing.
