Mutant TRP53 exerts a target gene-selective dominant-negative effect to drive tumor development
Brandon J. Aubrey,Ana Janic,Ana Janic,Yunshun Chen,Yunshun Chen,Catherine Chang,Elizabeth Lieschke,Elizabeth Lieschke,Sarah T. Diepstraten,Sarah T. Diepstraten,Andrew J. Kueh,Andrew J. Kueh,Jonathan P. Bernardini,Jonathan P. Bernardini,Grant Dewson,Grant Dewson,Lorraine A. O'Reilly,Lorraine A. O'Reilly,Lachlan Whitehead,Lachlan Whitehead,Anne K. Voss,Anne K. Voss,Gordon K. Smyth,Gordon K. Smyth,Andreas Strasser,Andreas Strasser,Gemma L. Kelly,Gemma L. Kelly +27 more
TL;DR: RNA sequencing reveals that, in studies of lymphomagenesis, mutant TRP53 drives tumorigenesis primarily through the DNE, which modulates wild-type TRp53 function in a manner advantageous for neoplastic transformation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bax and Bak: back-bone of T cell death.
TL;DR: This work has shown that the pro-apoptotic molecules Bax and Bak have overlapping essential functions in T cell development and homeostasis and will help clarify the role of T cell reprograming in immune responses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pro-apoptotic BIM is an essential initiator of physiological endothelial cell death independent of regulation by FOXO3.
MN Koenig,Edwina Naik,Edwina Naik,Edwina Naik,Leona Rohrbeck,Leona Rohrbeck,Marco J Herold,Marco J Herold,Evelyn Trounson,Philippe Bouillet,Philippe Bouillet,Tim Thomas,Tim Thomas,Anne K. Voss,Anne K. Voss,Andreas Strasser,Andreas Strasser,Leigh Coultas,Leigh Coultas +18 more
TL;DR: It is reported that apoptosis was reduced in Bim−/− primary endothelial cells, demonstrating a cell-autonomous role for BIM in endothelial death following serum and growth factor withdrawal, and in conflict with in vitro studies, BIM-dependent endothelium death in vivo did not require FOXO3.
Journal ArticleDOI
PB76: a novel surface glycoprotein preferentially expressed on mouse pre-B cells and plasma cells detected by the monoclonal antibody G-5-2.
TL;DR: The results indicate that differentiation from progenitors to pre‐B cells in scid mice may occur normally; the scid mutation would thus appear to affect the process of rearrangement and expression of the Ig genes in the developing pre-B cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterisation of mice lacking the inflammatory caspases-1/11/12 reveals no contribution of caspase-12 to cell death and sepsis.
Ranja Salvamoser,Ranja Salvamoser,Kerstin Brinkmann,Kerstin Brinkmann,Lorraine A. O'Reilly,Lorraine A. O'Reilly,Lachlan Whitehead,Lachlan Whitehead,Andreas Strasser,Andreas Strasser,Marco J Herold,Marco J Herold +11 more
TL;DR: It is revealed that caspase-12 does not have readily recognisable overlapping roles with caspases-1 and -11 in the inflammatory response induced by LPS and in necroptosis and apoptosis induced by diverse cytotoxic agents, including the ones that elicit ER stress.
