TL;DR: The European Aerosol Cloud Climate and Air Quality Interactions project (EUCAARI) as mentioned in this paper was the first project to study aerosol processes fron nano to global scale and their effects on climate and air quality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of the applicability of NO-NO 2 -O 3 photostationary state to long-term measurements at the Hohenpeissenberg GAW Station, Germany
TL;DR: In this paper, the extent of deviation from PSS reveals a strong dependence on wind direction at the station, which can be explained by local effects such as the height of the sample inlet line, its distance to the forest and the surrounding topography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurements of the aerosol chemical composition and mixing state in the Po Valley using multiple spectroscopic techniques

TL;DR: In this article, the results obtained at a background site in the Po Valley, Italy, in summer 2009 were used in a field campaign with six state-of-the-art spectrometric techniques in parallel: aerosol time-offlight mass spectrometer (ATOFMS), two aerosol mass analysers (HR-ToF-AMS and SP-AMS), thermal desorption aerosol gas chromatography (TAG), chemical ionisation mass spectrametry (CIMS), and (offline) proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR
Journal ArticleDOI
Meteorological and trace gas factors affecting the number concentration of atmospheric Aitken ( D p = 50 nm) particles in the continental boundary layer: parameterization using a multivariate mixed effects model
Santtu Mikkonen,Hannele Korhonen,Hannele Korhonen,Sami Romakkaniemi,James N. Smith,James N. Smith,James N. Smith,Jorma Joutsensaari,Kari E. J. Lehtinen,Kari E. J. Lehtinen,A. Hamed,T. J. Breider,Wolfram Birmili,Gerald Spindler,C. Plass-Duelmer,Maria Cristina Facchini,Ari Laaksonen,Ari Laaksonen +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used multivariate nonlinear mixed effects model to predict the number concentration of 50 nm particles by a combination of in-situ meteorological and gas phase parameters.
Posted ContentDOI
Assessment of the NO-NO 2 -O 3 photostationary state applicability on long-term measurements at the GAW global station Hohenpeissenberg, Germany
TL;DR: In this article, Mannschreck et al. assess the applicability of the NO-NO2-O3 photostationary state applicability on long-term measurements at the GAW global station Hohenpeissenberg, Germany.
