HIV-1 matrix protein p17 induces human plasmacytoid dendritic cells to acquire a migratory immature cell phenotype

TL;DR: It is shown that peripheral blood p DCs express p17Rs on their surface and that freshly isolated pDCs are sensitive to p17 stimulation, and a model where p17 induces immature circulating pDC's to home in lymph nodes devoid of their ability to serve as a link between innate and adaptative immune systems is proposed.

Attenuated Listeria monocytogenes carrier strains can deliver an HIV-1 gp120 T helper epitope to MHC class II-restricted human CD4+ T cells.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that after ingestion of L. monocytogenes expressing a T helper epitope from the gp120 envelope glycoprotein of HIV, human adherent macrophages and dendritic cells can process and present the epitope to a specific CD4+ T cell line in the context of MHC class II molecules.
