Journal ArticleDOI

Mucosal CD8+ T cell responses induced by an MCMV based vaccine vector confer protection against influenza challenge.

TL;DR: Results showed that locally applied MCMV vectors could induce mucosal immunity at sites of entry, providing superior immune protection against respiratory infections.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simian immunodeficiency virus and human immunodeficiency virus type 1 matrix proteins specify different capabilities to modulate B cell growth.

TL;DR: The findings suggest the appearance of a structural constraint in the p17 C terminus that controls B cell growth, which may help to elucidate the evolutionary trajectory of HIV-1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Type I IFN and not TNF, is Essential for Cyclic Di-nucleotide-elicited CTL by a Cytosolic Cross-presentation Pathway.

TL;DR: It is shown here that type I IFN (and not TNF-α) is essential for CDA-mediated cross-presentation by a cathepsin independent, TAP and proteosome dependent cytosolic antigen processing pathway, which promotes effective cross-priming and further CTL induction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modified Vaccinia Virus Ankara Exerts Potent Immune Modulatory Activities in a Murine Model

TL;DR: It is shown that dendritic cells infected in vitro with non-recombinant (nr) MVA expressed maturation and activation markers and were able to efficiently present exogenously pulsed Ag to T cells, opening new ways to potentiate and modulate the immune responses to vaccine Ags depending on whether they are co-administered with MVA or encoded by recombinant viruses.
