Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a cocktail of recombinant-expressed human rabies virus-neutralizing monoclonal antibodies for postexposure prophylaxis of rabies.

TL;DR: In the mouse models, the postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) efficacy obtained with the rhuMAb cocktail was comparable to that obtained with HRIG, a finding strongly suggesting that rhuMAbs should be given serious consideration for use in future PEP of humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review of the economics of the prevention and control of rabies. Part 2: Rabies in dogs, livestock and wildlife.

TL;DR: Despite a definite decline in the number of rabid foxes, it has been difficult to obtain the promised benefits of using oral vaccines in Europe to control fox rabies, and only a few papers contain a multi-year framework, complete with discounting of future costs and benefits.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy of an oral vaccinia-rabies glycoprotein recombinant vaccine in controlling epidemic raccoon rabies in New Jersey

TL;DR: The breach of the vaccination area resulted in a resumption of the high rate of epidemic movement and a significant nine-fold increase in rabies prevalence, and insufficient funding and a decision to discontinue the program in 1994 may have contributed to the eventual breached of the barrier.
