Journal ArticleDOI
Bystander CD8+ T cells are abundant and phenotypically distinct in human tumour infiltrates
Yannick Simoni,Etienne Becht,Michael G. Fehlings,Chiew Yee Loh,Si-Lin Koo,Karen Wei Weng Teng,Joe Poh Sheng Yeong,Joe Poh Sheng Yeong,Rahul Nahar,Tong Zhang,Hassen Kared,Kaibo Duan,Nicholas Ang,Michael Poidinger,Yin Yeng Lee,Anis Larbi,Alexis Jiaying Khng,Emile Tan,Cherylin Fu,Ronnie Mathew,Melissa Ching Ching Teo,Wan-Teck Lim,Chee Keong Toh,Boon-Hean Ong,Tina Koh,Axel M. Newell +37 more
TL;DR: It is shown that human lung and colorectal cancer CD8+ TILs can not only be specific for tumour antigens, but also recognize a wide range of epitopes unrelated to cancer (such as those from Epstein–Barr virus, human cytomegalovirus or influenza virus).
Journal ArticleDOI
Never-Smokers With Lung Cancer: Epidemiologic Evidence of a Distinct Disease Entity
Chee Keong Toh,Fei Gao,Wan-Teck Lim,Swan-Swan Leong,Kam Weng Fong,Swee-Peng Yap,Anne A.L. Hsu,Philip Eng,Heng-Nung Koong,Agasthian Thirugnanam,Eng Huat Tan +10 more
TL;DR: Differences in survival outcome suggest that the biology underlying the pathogenesis and behavior of the disease may be different for never-smokers, and definite epidemiologic differences exist between never-Smokers and smokers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase II Trial of Atezolizumab As First-Line or Subsequent Therapy for Patients With Programmed Death-Ligand 1-Selected Advanced Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (BIRCH).
Solange Peters,Scott N. Gettinger,Melissa Lynne Johnson,Pasi A. Jänne,Marina Chiara Garassino,Daniel C. Christoph,Chee Keong Toh,Naiyer A. Rizvi,Jamie E. Chaft,Jamie E. Chaft,Enric Carcereny Costa,Jyoti D. Patel,Laura Q.M. Chow,Marianna Koczywas,Cheryl Ho,Martin Früh,Michel M. van den Heuvel,Jeffrey Rothenstein,Martin Reck,Luis Paz-Ares,Frances A. Shepherd,Takayasu Kurata,Zhengrong Li,Jiaheng Qiu,Marcin Kowanetz,Simonetta Mocci,Geetha Shankar,Alan Sandler,Enriqueta Felip +28 more
TL;DR: BIRCH demonstrated responses with atezolizumab monotherapy in patients with PD-L1-selected advanced NSCLC, with good tolerability, and PD- L1 status may serve as a predictive biomarker for identifying patients most likely to benefit from atezolediazepine monotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic landscape of lung adenocarcinoma in East Asians
Jianbin Chen,He-Chuan Yang,He-Chuan Yang,Audrey S.M. Teo,Lidyana Bte Amer,Faranak Ghazi Sherbaf,Chu Quan Tan,Jacob Josiah Santiago Alvarez,Bingxin Lu,Jia Qi Lim,Angela Takano,Rahul Nahar,Yin Yeng Lee,Cheryl Zi Jin Phua,K.P. Creasy,Daniel Shao Weng Tan,Axel M. Hillmer,Axel M. Hillmer,Weiwei Zhai +46 more
TL;DR: This study elucidated a comprehensive genomic landscape of EAS LUADs and highlighted important ancestry differences between the two cohorts and identified a new EAS-specific LUAD subgroup with a less complex genomic profile and upregulated immune-related genes, allowing the possibility of immunotherapy-based approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elucidating the genomic architecture of Asian EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma through multi-region exome sequencing
Rahul Nahar,Weiwei Zhai,Weiwei Zhai,Tong Zhang,Angela Takano,Alexis Jiaying Khng,Yin Yeng Lee,Xingliang Liu,Chong Hee Lim,Tina P.T. Koh,Zaw Win Aung,Tony Kiat Hon Lim,Lavanya Veeravalli,Ju Yuan,Audrey S.M. Teo,Cheryl Xueli Chan,Huay Mei Poh,Ivan M. L. Chua,Audrey Ann Liew,Dawn Pingxi Lau,Xue Lin Kwang,Chee Keong Toh,Wan-Teck Lim,Bing Lim,Wai Leong Tam,Eng Huat Tan,Axel M. Hillmer,Daniel Shao-Weng Tan +27 more
TL;DR: It is shown that these EGFR mutant lung adenocarcinoma LUADs involve a complex genomic landscape with high intratumor heterogeneity, providing insights into the evolutionary trajectory of oncogene-driven LUAD and potential mediators of EGFR TKI resistance.
