Journal ArticleDOI

Iron status influences non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in obesity through the gut microbiome

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied an integrative system medicine approach (faecal metagenomics, plasma and urine metabolomics, hepatic transcriptomics) in 2 well-characterised human cohorts of subjects with obesity (discovery n = 49 and validation n = 628) and an independent cohort formed by both individuals with and without obesity (n = 130), combined with in vitro and animal models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chicken interferome: avian interferon-stimulated genes identified by microarray and RNA-seq of primary chick embryo fibroblasts treated with a chicken type I interferon (IFN-α).

TL;DR: This study focuses on the potentially anti-viral genes by identifying those induced just by interferon in primary chick embryo fibroblasts, and considers robust the results because 128 of the compiled, curated list of 193 regulated genes were detected by two, or more, of the technologies.
