Hopkins,Mark Slevin,Veronica Campi,Puneetpal Singh,Francesca Papa,Aurel Popa-Wagner,Valeria Tudorica,Ryo Takagi,Akira Teramoto,Karin Weissenborn,Heinrich Lanfermann +87 more
TL;DR: In this large patient-level meta-analysis, models using four or five predictors had acceptable to good discrimination and could inform the location and frequency of observations on patients in clinical practice, explain treatment effects in prior randomised trials, and guide the design of future trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutrophil transfer of miR-223 to lung epithelial cells dampens acute lung injury in mice
Viola Neudecker,Viola Neudecker,Kelley S. Brodsky,Eric T. Clambey,Eric P. Schmidt,Thomas A. Packard,Bennett Davenport,Theodore J. Standiford,Tingting Weng,Ashley A. Fletcher,Lea Barthel,Joanne C. Masterson,Glenn T. Furuta,Chunyan Cai,Michael R. Blackburn,Adit A. Ginde,Michael W. Graner,William J. Janssen,Rachel L. Zemans,Christopher M. Evans,Ellen L. Burnham,Dirk Homann,Marc Moss,Simone Kreth,Kai Zacharowski,Peter M. Henson,Holger K. Eltzschig,Holger K. Eltzschig +27 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that intercellular transfer of miR-223 from neutrophil-derived microRNAs to pulmonary epithelial cells may dampen acute lung injury through repression of PARP-1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes of Endovascular Thrombectomy vs Medical Management Alone in Patients With Large Ischemic Cores: A Secondary Analysis of the Optimizing Patient's Selection for Endovascular Treatment in Acute Ischemic Stroke (SELECT) Study.
Amrou Sarraj,Ameer E Hassan,Ameer E Hassan,Sean I Savitz,Clark Sitton,James C. Grotta,Peng R Chen,Chunyan Cai,Gary Cutter,Bita Imam,Sujan T Reddy,Kaushik Parsha,Deep Pujara,Roy Riascos,Nirav Vora,Michael G. Abraham,Haris Kamal,Diogo C Haussen,Andrew D Barreto,Maarten G Lansberg,Rishi Gupta,Gregory W. Albers +21 more
TL;DR: Although the odds of good outcomes for patients with large cores who receive EVT markedly decline with increasing core size and time to treatment, these data suggest potential benefits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comprehensive Characterization of Alternative Polyadenylation in Human Cancer.
Yu Xiang,Youqiong Ye,Yanyan Lou,Yang Yang,Chunyan Cai,Zhao Zhang,Tingting Mills,Ning Yuan Chen,Yoonjin Kim,Fatma Muge Ozguc,Lixia Diao,Harry Karmouty-Quintana,Yang Xia,Rodney E. Kellems,Zheng Chen,Michael R. Blackburn,Seung Hee Yoo,Ann-Bin Shyu,Gordon B. Mills,Leng Han +19 more
TL;DR: This study revealed a striking global 3'UTR shortening in cancer cell lines compared with tumor samples and suggested PABPN1 as the master regulator in regulating APA profile across different cancer types, and showed that APA events could affect drug sensitivity, especially of drugs targeting chromatin modifiers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endovascular Thrombectomy for Mild Strokes: How Low Should We Go?
Amrou Sarraj,Ameer E Hassan,Sean I Savitz,James C. Grotta,Chunyan Cai,Kaushik Parsha,Christine M Farrell,Bita Imam,Clark Sitton,Sujan T Reddy,Haris Kamal,Nitin Goyal,Lucas Elijovich,Katelin Reishus,Rashi Krishnan,Navdeep Sangha,Abel Wu,Renata Costa,Ruqayyah Malik,Osman Mir,Rashedul Hasan,Lindsay M. Snodgrass,Manuel Requena,Dion Graybeal,Michael G. Abraham,Michael Chen,Louise D. McCullough,Marc Ribo +27 more
TL;DR: A retrospective multicenter cohort study showed no improvement in excellent and independent functional outcomes in mild strokes (NIHSS, <6) receiving thrombectomy irrespective of thrombus location, with increased symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage rates, consistent with the guidelines recommending the treatment for NIHSS ≥6.
