Journal ArticleDOI
High-resolution Whole-Genome Analysis of Skull Base Chordomas Implicates FHIT Loss in Chordoma Pathogenesis
Roberto J. Diaz,Mustafa Güdük,Rocco Romagnuolo,Christian A. Smith,Paul A. Northcott,David Shih,Fitim Berisha,Adrienne M. Flanagan,David G. Munoz,Michael D. Cusimano,Michael D. Cusimano,M. Necmettin Pamir,James T. Rutka +12 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that chromosome 3 aneuploidy and epigenetic regulation of FHIT contribute to loss of the FHit tumor suppressor in chordoma, and the finding that FH IT is lost in a majority of chordomas provides new insight into chordoma pathogenesis and points to a potential new therapeutic target for this challenging neoplasm.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aurora kinase B/C inhibition impairs malignant glioma growth in vivo
Roberto J. Diaz,Roberto J. Diaz,Brian Golbourn,Maryam Shekarforoush,Christian A. Smith,James T. Rutka,James T. Rutka +6 more
TL;DR: This is the first demonstration that an Aurora kinase inhibitor can inhibit malignant glioma growth in vivo at drug doses that are clinically relevant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid determination of medulloblastoma subgroup affiliation with mass spectrometry using a handheld picosecond infrared laser desorption probe.
Michael Woolman,Michael Woolman,Isabelle Ferry,Claudia M. Kuzan-Fischer,Megan Wu,Jing Zou,Taira Kiyota,Semra Isik,Delaram Dara,Ahmed Aman,Sunit Das,Sunit Das,Michael D. Taylor,James T. Rutka,Howard J. Ginsberg,Arash Zarrine-Afsar +15 more
TL;DR: In situ mass spectrometry sampling in the absence of tissue thermal damage results in positive results for high-performance liquid chromatography with high precision.
Journal ArticleDOI
Corpus callosotomy in children with intractable epilepsy using frameless stereotactic neuronavigation: 12-year experience at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
TL;DR: The use of frameless stereotactic neuronavigation is a safe, effective, and important surgical adjunct in the planning and execution of successful corpus callosotomy in children with intractable epilepsy.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of the membrane cytoskeleton cross-linker ezrin in medulloblastoma cells
TL;DR: Findings suggest that, in addition to other cytoskeletal proteins, ezrin plays an important role in medulloblastoma adhesion, migration, and invasion.
