Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of differentially expressed and developmentally regulated genes in medulloblastoma using suppression subtraction hybridization.
Naoki Yokota,Naoki Yokota,Todd G. Mainprize,Michael D. Taylor,Tomohiko Kohata,Michael P. Loreto,Shigeo Ueda,Wieslaw T. Dura,Wiesia Grajkowska,John S. Kuo,James T. Rutka +10 more
TL;DR: A panel of developmentally regulated genes that may be involved in the pathogenesis of medulloblastoma are revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI
MEG predicts epileptic zone in lesional extrahippocampal epilepsy: 12 pediatric surgery cases.
Hiroshi Otsubo,Ayako Ochi,Irene Elliott,Sylvester H. Chuang,James T. Rutka,Venita Jay,Maung Aung,David F. Sobel,O. Carter Snead +8 more
TL;DR: Whether the spatial distribution of spike sources determined by magnetoencephalography (MEG) provides reliable information for planning surgery and predicting outcomes in pediatric patients with lesional extrahippocampal epilepsy is investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aberrant patterns of H3K4 and H3K27 histone lysine methylation occur across subgroups in medulloblastoma
Adrian M. Dubuc,Marc Remke,Andrey Korshunov,Andrey Korshunov,Paul A. Northcott,Shing Hei Zhan,Maria Mendez-Lago,Marcel Kool,David T.W. Jones,Alexander Unterberger,A. Sorana Morrissy,David Shih,John Peacock,Vijay Ramaswamy,Adi Rolider,Xin Wang,Hendrik Witt,Thomas Hielscher,Cynthia Hawkins,Rajeev Vibhakar,Sidney Croul,James T. Rutka,William A. Weiss,Steven J.M. Jones,Charles G. Eberhart,Marco A. Marra,Stefan M. Pfister,Michael D. Taylor +27 more
TL;DR: Targeted re-sequencing identified mutations of MLL2 in 8% of MBs, and found that PRC2-mediated aberrant methylation of H3K27 has recently been targeted for therapy in other diseases, and represents an actionable target for a substantial percentage of medulloblastoma patients with aggressive forms of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
MEG predicts outcome following surgery for intractable epilepsy in children with normal or nonfocal MRI findings.
Rajesh RamachandranNair,Hiroshi Otsubo,Manohar Shroff,Ayako Ochi,Shelly K. Weiss,James T. Rutka,O. Carter Snead +6 more
TL;DR: The aim is to identify the predictors of postsurgical seizure freedom in children with refractory epilepsy and normal or nonfocal MRI findings and to investigate the relationships between these findings and clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of the biodistribution of fluorescein in glioma-infiltrated mouse brain and histopathological correlation of intraoperative findings in high-grade gliomas resected under fluorescein fluorescence guidance.
Roberto J. Diaz,Roberto Rey Dios,Eyas M. Hattab,Kelly Burrell,Patricia Rakopoulos,Nesrin Sabha,Cynthia Hawkins,Gelareh Zadeh,Gelareh Zadeh,James T. Rutka,Aaron A. Cohen-Gadol +10 more
TL;DR: The in vitro and in vivo models suggest that fluorescein demarcation of glioma-invaded brain is the result of distribution of fluorscein into the extracellular space, most likely as a result of an abnormal blood-brain barrier.
