TL;DR: It is found that albumin treatment reduced systemic inflammation and cardiocirculatory dysfunction in patients with decompensated cirrhosis and the immune-modulatory effects of albumin observed in the Pilot-PRECIOSA study were confirmed in the INFECIR-2 study.

TL;DR: This study identified precipitants that are significantly associated with a distinct clinical course and prognosis of patients with AD and specific preventive and therapeutic strategies targeting these events may improve outcome in decompensated cirrhosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coagulation Failure in Patients With Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure and Decompensated Cirrhosis: Beyond the International Normalized Ratio.
Annabel Blasi,Andrea Calvo,Verónica Prado,Enric Reverter,Juan Carlos Reverter,María Hernández-Tejero,Fatima Aziz,Alex Amoros,Andrés Cárdenas,Javier Romaní Fernández +9 more
TL;DR: Patients with ACLF frequently show hypocoagulable features with prolonged time to initial fibrin formation and clot formation time and reduced clot firmness; these alterations worsen after admission, correlate with systemic inflammation, and translate into higher short‐term mortality; hypofibrinolysis could contribute to organ failure in ACLF.
How Important to a City Are Tourists and Daytrippers? The Economic Impact of Tourism on The City of Barcelona
