TL;DR: Acute decompensation without ACLF is a heterogeneous condition with three different clinical courses and two major pathophysiological mechanisms: systemic inflammation and portal hypertension.

TL;DR: This study identified precipitants that are significantly associated with a distinct clinical course and prognosis of patients with AD and specific preventive and therapeutic strategies targeting these events may improve outcome in decompensated cirrhosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
An update on cirrhotic cardiomyopathy.
TL;DR: A cautious cardiac evaluation should be included in the patient evaluation prior to liver transplantation, as Liver transplantation ameliorates most of the abnormalities seen in cirrhotic cardiomyopathy, but no specific treatment can yet be recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fibrogenesis and inflammation contribute to the pathogenesis of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy.

TL;DR: Novel magnetic resonance imaging with quantification of the extracellular volume (ECV) provides an estimate of the fibrotic remodelling in the liver and heart.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cholesteryl ester storage disease of clinical and genetic characterisation: A case report and review of literature.
Elias Badal Rashu,Anders Ellekær Junker,Karen Vagner Danielsen,Emilie Kristine Dahl,Ole Hamberg,Line Borgwardt,Vibeke Brix Christensen,Nicolai J. Wewer Albrechtsen,Lise Lotte Gluud +8 more
TL;DR: Clinically and genetically evaluate two siblings with CESD who underwent liver transplantation, as well as their first-degree family members, and underlines that CESD is a multi-organ disease, the progression of which may occur post-liver transplantation.
