Influence of deformation strain rate on the mechanical response in a metastable β titanium alloy with various microstructures

TL;DR: In this article, the compressive deformation behavior of a heat treated metastable β titanium alloy was investigated with a Gleeble 1500 machine and the results showed that samples with different microstructures have different responses to the change of deformation speed.
Journal ArticleDOI

RRM1 and ERCC1 expression in peripheral blood versus tumor tissue in gemcitabine/carboplatin-treated advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

TL;DR: Advanced NSCLC patients with low RRM1 mRNA expression both in peripheral blood and in tumor tissue could benefit from gemcitabine/carboplatin chemotherapy, and Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that ERCC1 expression in tumors tissue was independent indicator for overall survival.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study on hydrodynamic load of real-world tsunami wave at highway bridge deck using a coupled modeling system

TL;DR: In this paper, a tsunami wave profile observed during the 2011 Japan Tsunami has been parameterized and applied for predicting hydrodynamic characteristics of coastal highway bridges under the impact of tsunami surge waves.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of laser shock peening on high cycle fatigue properties of aluminized AISI 321 stainless steel

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of laser shock peening (LSP) treatment on fatigue property of aluminized AISI 321 stainless steel was studied, and the high fraction twinning and compressive residual stress induced by LSP at the severe plastic deformation (SPD) layer were found to be responsible for the enhanced fatigue property.
