Thermal escape from a metastable state in periodically driven Josephson junctions
Guozhu Sun,Ning Dong,Guangfeng Mao,Jian Chen,Weiwei Xu,Zhengming Ji,Lin Kang,Peiheng Wu,Yang Yu,D. Y. Xing +9 more
TL;DR: Resonant activation and noise-enhanced stability were observed in an underdamped real physical system, i.e., Josephson tunnel junctions, with a weak sinusoidal driving force applied and the thermal activated escape from a potential well underwent resonancelike behaviors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tri-level robust planning-operation co-optimization of distributed energy storage in distribution networks with high PV penetration
TL;DR: A novel tri-level robust planning-operation co-optimization model, which is composed of security-operation and optimal-dispatch cutting planes, is introduced to solve the non-convex min-max-min optimization problem of DES.
Journal ArticleDOI
Designing perfect linear polarization converters using perfect electric and magnetic conducting surfaces.
Gaochao Zhou,Tao Xudong,Ze Shen,Guanghao Zhu,Biaobing Jin,Lin Kang,Weiwei Xu,Jian Chen,Peiheng Wu +8 more
TL;DR: A kind of general framework for the design of a perfect linear polarization converter that works in the transmission mode is proposed and it is shown that when the device under consideration simultaneously possesses two complementary symmetry planes, linear polarization conversion can occur with an efficiency of 100% in the absence of absorptive losses.

Compact Superconducting Terahertz Source Operating in Liquid Nitrogen
Luyao Hao,Min Ji,Min Ji,Jinshi Yuan,D. Y. An,D. Y. An,M. Y. Li,M. Y. Li,Xianjing Zhou,Xianjing Zhou,Yan Huang,Yan Huang,Hancong Sun,Qiang Zhu,F. Rudau,Raphael Wieland,Nickolay V. Kinev,Jun Li,Weiwei Xu,Biaobing Jin,Jian Chen,Takeshi Hatano,Valery P. Koshelets,Dieter Koelle,Reinhold Kleiner,Huabing Wang,Huabing Wang,P. H. Wu +27 more
TL;DR: The T-ray flashlight as mentioned in this paper is a portable source of tunable, continuous terahertz light, employing a stack of intrinsic Josephson junctions in a cuprate superconductor as the emitter.
