Three Epochs of Star Formation in the High-Redshift Universe

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the impact of an early population of massive stars on their surroundings and show that observations of high-redshift supernovae with the Next Generation Space Telescope have the potential to trace the cosmic star formation rate out to z 20.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three Epochs of Star Formation in the High Redshift Universe

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the impact of an early population of massive stars on their surroundings and show that observations of high redshift supernovae with the Next Generation Space Telescope (NGST) have the potential to trace the cosmic star formation rate out to z >~ 20.5.
Journal ArticleDOI

A very-high-energy component deep in the γ-ray burst afterglow

H. Abdalla, +235 more
- 20 Nov 2019 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors observed very high-energy gamma-ray burst (GRB) emission in the bright GRB 180720B deep in the GRB afterglow, ten hours after the end of the prompt emission phase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Completeness in Weak-Lensing Searches for Clusters

TL;DR: In this paper, the completeness and efficiency of searches for galaxy clusters in weak-lensing surveys were investigated using mock observations of numerical simulations, and it was shown that the accuracy of the results depends on the filter used in the search and the desired mass threshold.
