Journal ArticleDOI

Barcode sequencing and a high-throughput assay for chronological lifespan uncover ageing-associated genes in fission yeast.

TL;DR: In this article, an improved experimental and computational methods to study chronological lifespan in Schizosaccharomyces pombe were presented. But the results from the Bar-seq screen showed good agreement with this new assay, and identified many new ageingassociated genes as a framework for analyzing cellular ageing in yeast and beyond.
Journal ArticleDOI

CSL protein regulates transcription of genes required to prevent catastrophic mitosis in fission yeast

TL;DR: The results raise the possibility that CSL proteins play conserved roles in regulating cell-cycle progression, and they could guide experiments into mitotic CSL functions in mammals.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Multidisciplinary, Open Access Platform for Research on Biomolecules.

TL;DR: Biomolecules, a new journal to report on all aspects of science that focuses on biologically derived substances, from small molecules to complex polymers, is introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

N-termini of fungal CSL transcription factors are disordered, enriched in regulatory motifs and inhibit DNA binding in fission yeast.

TL;DR: It is proposed that the regulation of DNA binding by Cbf12 via its N-terminal region represents an important means by which fission yeast strikes a balance between the class F1 and class F2 paralog activities.
