Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation by let-7 and lin-4 miRNAs results in target mRNA degradation.

TL;DR: It is revealed that mRNAs containing partial miRNA complementary sites can be targeted for degradation in vivo, raising the possibility that regulation at the level of mRNA stability may be more common than previously appreciated for the miRNA pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI

LIN28 Binds Messenger RNAs at GGAGA Motifs and Regulates Splicing Factor Abundance

TL;DR: Findings identify important regulatory functions of LIN28 via direct mRNA interactions through crosslinking and immunoprecipitation coupled with high-throughput sequencing in human embryonic stem cells and somatic cells expressing exogenous LIN28.
Journal ArticleDOI

LIN-28 co-transcriptionally binds primary let-7 to regulate miRNA maturation in Caenorhabditis elegans.

TL;DR: It is concluded that co-transcriptional interaction of LIN-28 with let-7 primary transcripts blocks Drosha processing and, thus, precocious expression of matureLet-7 during early development.
Journal ArticleDOI

PRMT5 inhibition disrupts splicing and stemness in glioblastoma

TL;DR: In this paper, orthogonal-acting inhibitors of protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) have been shown to cause widespread disruption of splicing across the transcriptome.
