Journal ArticleDOI

Allicin as a Volatile or Nebulisable Antimycotic for the Treatment of Pulmonary Mycoses: In Vitro Studies Using a Lung Flow Test Rig

TL;DR: Allicin is a potential candidate for development for use in antifungal therapy for lung and upper respiratory tract infections and the effect of allicin via the gas phase was enhanced by ethanol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of matrix metalloproteinase-9 during monopoiesis and zinc deficiency by chromatin remodeling.

TL;DR: In this article , the effect of differentiation and zinc deficiency on MMP-9 expression and MMP9 promoter accessibility was investigated using the acute promyelocytic cell line NB4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calculating zinc uptake by Zinc-APP.

TL;DR: In this article , co-exposure to sulphur dioxide and fluoride exacerbated enamel damage, resulting in more severe enamel defects of incisor and the damage occurred earlier, and the results indicate that co-expposure to SO2 and fluoride may result in more toxicity both in vitro and in vivo than a single exposure to SO 2 and fluoride, suggesting that residents in areas contaminated with SO2, fluoride may be more likely to suffer enamel damages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Zinc Status on Expression of Zinc Transporters, Redox-Related Enzymes and Insulin-like Growth Factor in Asian Sea Bass Cells

TL;DR: In this article , the effects of zinc deficiency on the expression of genes related to the redox balance and growth hormone metabolism were analyzed using RT-PCR, showing that zinc deficiency induces a stress response in cells from Asian sea bass, which may be avoided when sufficient amounts of zinc are provided to the cells.
