TL;DR: Observations and physical modelling of a rapidly fading electromagnetic transient in the galaxy NGC 4993, which is spatially coincident with GW170817, indicate that neutron-star mergers produce gravitational waves and radioactively powered kilonovae, and are a nucleosynthetic source of the r-process elements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of flat-spectrum radio-loud Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies

Sievers,Gianpiero Tagliaferri,Joni Tammi,Omar Tibolla,Omar Tibolla,Merja Tornikoski,S. Vercellone,G. La Mura,L. Maraschi,Piero Rafanelli +31 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a multi-wavelength survey of 42 radio loud narrow-1ine Seyfert 1 galaxies (RLNLS1s), selected by searching among all the known sources of this type and omitting those with steep radio spectra.

Moran,Marco Berton,Marco Berton,Kate Maguire,Kate Maguire,Francesca Onori,Seppo Mattila,Matt Nicholl,Matt Nicholl +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, optical spectroscopic and Swift UVOT/XRT observations of the X-ray and UV/optical bright tidal disruption event (TDE) AT 2018fyk/ASASSN-18ul discovered by ASAS-SN were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
A spectroscopic analysis of a sample of narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
Valentina Cracco,Stefano Ciroi,Marco Berton,F. Di Mille,Luigi Foschini,G. La Mura,Piero Rafanelli +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spectroscopic characteristics of narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s) were revisited by analysing a homogeneous sample of 296 NLS 1s at redshift between 0.028 and 0.345, extracted from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-DR7).

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present extensive datasets for a class of intermediate-luminosity optical transients known as luminous red novae, which show double-peaked light curves, with an initial rapid luminosity rise to a blue peak (at −13 to −15 mag), followed by a longer-duration red peak that sometimes is attenuated, resembling a plateau.
