Regulatory elements of Caenorhabditis elegans ribosomal protein genes.
Monica C. Sleumer,Guifeng Wei,Yunfei Wang,Yunfei Wang,Hao Chang,Tao Xu,Runsheng Chen,Michael Q. Zhang,Michael Q. Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: This study found nine highly conserved motifs in the upstream regions of C. elegans RPGs that are similar to the binding site of an orthologue of POP-1, and showed that RNAi knockdown of pop-1 impacts the expression of rpl-2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Macroscopic synthesis of onion-like graphitic particles
Michael Q. Zhang,Michael Q. Zhang,Danxia He,L. Ji,B.Q Wei,Dehai Wu,Xiao-Ai Zhang,Yizhuang Xu,Wenkui Wang +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) study of some low-dimensional nanostructures, such as carbon nanotubules and silicon-based blue-light emitting beta-SiC nanoparticles, was reported.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Prediction of transcription start sites based on feature selection using AMOSA.
TL;DR: A newly proposed multi-objective simulated annealing based optimization method, Archive Multi-Objective Simulated Annealing (AMOSA), is integrated with Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) to yield a combined feature selection and classification system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validation of SCT methylation as a hallmark biomarker for lung cancers
Yu An Zhang,Xiaotu Ma,Adwait Amod Sathe,Junya Fujimoto,Ignacio I. Wistuba,Stephen Lam,Yasushi Yatabe,Yi Wei Wang,Victor Stastny,Boning Gao,Jill E. Larsen,Luc Girard,Xiaoyun Liu,Kai Song,Kai Song,Carmen Behrens,Neda Kalhor,Yang Xie,Michael Q. Zhang,Michael Q. Zhang,John D. Minna,Adi F. Gazdar +21 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that SCT methylation is a highly discriminative biomarker for lung and other malignant tumor types, is less frequent in low‐grade malignant tumors (including lung carcinoids), and appears at the carcinoma in situ stage.
Journal ArticleDOI
LncRNA Platr22 promotes super-enhancer activity and stem cell pluripotency.
TL;DR: A critical regulatory role of the lncRNA gene Platr22 is revealed in modulating the activity of a nearby SE and the expression of the nearby pluripotency regulator ZFP281, highlighting an unanticipated role for a class of lncRNAs in epigenetically controlling the activity and vulnerability to perturbation of nearby SEs for cell fate determination.
