Phase equilibrium calculations in the systems (Na, Li)-ß′-Al2O3O2 and (Na, Li)-ß′-Al2O3O2H2O in relation to Na-ß′-Al2O3 single-crystal-film growth
TL;DR: In this article, the equilibrium and metastable-equilibrium phase relationships and gas-species distributions in the systems: (Na 1− x Li x )-s′-Al 2 O 3 O 2 H 2 O ( x = 0.05, 0.1, 0 2, 0 3 and 0.5) at 1400-1800 K have been calculated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved precursor ceramics for proton-conductive β″/β-aluminas
TL;DR: In this article, the optimum composition and preparation conditions for improved protonconductive β″/β alumina precursors were determined for extended-time sintering techniques which favor formation of β″-alumina and cleaner grain boundaries.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of alkali content, stabilizer distribution and atmosphere on mixed-alkali ß″/ß-Al2O3 sinters
Aichun Tan,Patrick S. Nicholson +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of (Na, K)-s″s″/s-Al 2 O 3 was studied and it was found that the β- and s″-Al O 3 phase transformations are strongly influenced by the total content of alkali ions, the Na + /K + ratio and the dissolution of Mg 2+ in the β − and s − − s − al 2 o 3 phases.
Book ChapterDOI
High Temperature Strength and Toughness of Electrophoretically Deposited Alumina/Lanthanum Aluminate Laminates
Journal ArticleDOI
Modification of αAI2O3 Platelet/ZrO2 Matrix Interface by Epitaxial Growth of β‐AI2O3 on the α‐AI2O3
TL;DR: An epitaxial β-alumina crystal growth method was used to modify α-AI2O3 platelet surfaces before inclusion as a reinforcing phase in partially stabilized zirconia (3Y-TZP).
