High-Throughput Analysis of Antimalarial Susceptibility Data by the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) In Vitro Analysis and Reporting Tool
Charles J. Woodrow,Charles J. Woodrow,Sabina Dahlström,Richard Cooksey,Jennifer A. Flegg,Hervé Le Nagard,Claribel Murillo,Didier Menard,François Nosten,Kanlaya Sriprawat,Lise Musset,Neils B. Quashie,Pharath Lim,Rick M. Fairhurst,Sam L. Nsobya,Véronique Sinou,Harald Noedl,Bruno Pradines,Jacob D. Johnson,Philippe J Guerin,Carol Hopkins Sibley,Carol Hopkins Sibley,Jacques Le Bras,Jacques Le Bras +23 more
TL;DR: A Web-based, high-throughput in vitro analysis and reporting tool (IVART) generating inhibitory constants for large data sets, showing that maximal drug inhibition was higher for artemisinins than for other drugs, particularly in ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay)-based assays.
Journal ArticleDOI
Longitudinal study assessing the return of chloroquine susceptibility of Plasmodium falciparum in isolates from travellers returning from West and Central Africa, 2000–2011
Myriam Gharbi,Jennifer A. Flegg,Véronique Hubert,Eric Kendjo,Jessica Metcalf,Lionel Bertaux,Philippe J Guerin,Jacques Le Bras +7 more
TL;DR: An increase in CQ susceptibility following official withdrawal of the drug was observed in travellers returning from West and Central African countries, and they correlated to the decrease of thedrug pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early parasitological response following artemisinin-containing regimens: a critical review of the literature
TL;DR: These results highlight the normal distribution of early parasitological responses following ACT, and the influence that heterogeneity in study design, host and parasite factors have in confounding a surveillance system based on Day 3 parasite positivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
The risk of Plasmodium vivax parasitaemia after P. falciparum malaria: An individual patient data meta-analysis from the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network.

White,Nicholas J. White,Philippe J Guerin,Julie A. Simpson,Ric N. Price +65 more
TL;DR: This study aimed to quantify this risk and the associated determinants using an individual patient data meta-analysis in order to identify populations in which a policy of universal radical cure, combining artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) with a hypnozoitocidal antimalarial drug, would be beneficial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mortality Risk among Children Admitted in a Large-Scale Nutritional Program in Niger, 2006
Nael Lapidus,Andrea Minetti,Ali Djibo,Philippe J Guerin,Sarah Hustache,Valérie Gaboulaud,Rebecca F. Grais +6 more
TL;DR: Although clinicians will continue to perform screening using clinical signs and anthropometry, these risk indicators may provide additional criteria for the assessment of absolute and relative risk of death among children diagnosed with severe malnutrition using the newly introduced WHO growth standards.
