Journal ArticleDOI
Feedback Activation of Factor XI by Thrombin Is Essential for Hemostasis In Vivo.
Henri M. H. Spronk,Sabine Wilhelm,Rene van Oerle,Menno L. W. Knetsch,David Gailani,Rafal Pawlinski,Nigel Mackman,Hugo ten Cate,Thomas Renné +8 more
TL;DR: Examination of feedback activation of FXI in plasma and in genetically altered mice provides the first evidence that at low TF levels FXI is essential in generating a sufficient ambient level of thrombin to permit embryonic development.
Journal ArticleDOI
High molecular weight kininogen contributes to early mortality and kidney dysfunction in a mouse model of sickle cell disease.
Erica M. Sparkenbaugh,Malgorzata Kasztan,Michael W. Henderson,Patrick Ellsworth,Parker Ross Davis,Kathryn Wilson,Brandi Reeves,Nigel S. Key,Sidney Strickland,Keith R. McCrae,David M. Pollock,Rafal Pawlinski +11 more
TL;DR: High molecular weight kininogen (HK) is a central cofactor for the kallikrein‐kinin and intrinsic coagulation pathways, which contributes to both coagulations and inflammation.
Presented in abstract form at the 42nd annual meeting of the American Society expression by inducing Elk-1 phosphorylation and Egr-1 expression : α monocytic cells mediates tissue factor and tumor necrosis factor Lipopolysaccharide activation of the MEK-ERK1/2 pathway in human
David M. Stern,Nigel Mackman,Mausumee Guha,Maria A. O'Connell,Rafal Pawlinski,Angela Hollis,Patricia McGovern,Shi Fang Yan +7 more
TL;DR: expression by inducing Elk-1 phosphorylation and Egr-1 expression : monocytic cells mediates tissue factor and tumor necrosis factor αLipopolysaccharide activation of the MEK-ERK1/2 pathway in human.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of Mouse Models to Study the Role of Tissue Factor in Tumor Biology
Rafal Pawlinski,Nigel Mackman +1 more
TL;DR: Clinical observations indicate a direct correlation between the levels of tumor cell TF expression and poor prognosis for cancer patients, and recently developed mouse models with altered levels of TF may be useful in further analysis of the role of host cell TF in cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
