Regulatory B cells are enriched within the IgM memory and transitional subsets in healthy donors but are deficient in chronic GVHD
Ahmad Khoder,Anushruti Sarvaria,Abdullah Alsuliman,Claude Chew,Takuya Sekine,Nichola Cooper,Stephan Mielke,Hugues de Lavallade,Muharrem Muftuoglu,Irina Fernandez Curbelo,Enli Liu,Paolo A. Muraro,Amin M. Alousi,Kate Stringaris,Simrit Parmar,Nina Shah,Hila Shaim,Eric Yvon,Jeffrey J. Molldrem,Rayne H. Rouce,Richard E. Champlin,Ian K. McNiece,Claudia Mauri,Elizabeth J. Shpall,Katy Rezvani +24 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that B cells with immunoregulatory properties are enriched within both the CD19(+)IgM(+)CD27(+) memory and CD24(hi)CD38(HI) transitional B-cell subsets in healthy human donors, suggesting that Bregs may be involved in the pathogenesis of cGVHD and support future investigation of regulatory B cell-based therapy in the treatment of this disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Donor-specific anti-HLA Abs and graft failure in matched unrelated donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Stefan O. Ciurea,Peter F. Thall,Xuemei Wang,Sa A. Wang,Ying Hu,Pedro Cano,Fleur M. Aung,Gabriela Rondon,Jeffrey J. Molldrem,Martin Korbling,Elizabeth J. Shpall,Marcos de Lima,Richard E. Champlin,Marcelo Fernandez-Vina +13 more
TL;DR: The presence of anti-DPB1 DSAs is associated with graft failure in MUD hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in patients with matched unrelated donor (MUD) transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-Specific Monoclonal Antibody to Detect CD19-Specific T Cells in Clinical Trials
Bipulendu Jena,Sourindra Maiti,Helen Huls,Harjeet Singh,Dean A. Lee,Dean A. Lee,Richard E. Champlin,Laurence J.N. Cooper,Laurence J.N. Cooper +8 more
TL;DR: A novel anti-idiotype monoclonal antibody (mAb) to detect CD19-specific CAR+ T cells before and after their adoptive transfer and could be extended to other gene therapy trials targeting different tumor associated antigens in the context of CAR-based adoptive T-cell therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical toxicity and laboratory effects of granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (filgrastim) mobilization and blood stem cell apheresis from normal donors, and analysis of charges for the procedures.
Paolo Anderlini,Donna Przepiorka,D. Seong,P. Miller,J. Sundberg,Benjamin Lichtiger,F. Norfleet,Kawah Chan,Richard E. Champlin,Martin Korbling +9 more
TL;DR: Apheresis of granulocyte‐colony‐stimulating factor (filgrastim)‐mobilized blood stem cells from normal donors is now being used in place of a marrow harvest in transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduced-intensity conditioning for unrelated donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as treatment for myeloid malignancies in patients older than 55 years.
Raymond S.M. Wong,Raymond S.M. Wong,Sergio Giralt,Sergio Giralt,Thomas G. Martin,Thomas G. Martin,Daniel R. Couriel,Daniel R. Couriel,Athanasios Anagnostopoulos,Athanasios Anagnostopoulos,Chitra Hosing,Borje S. Andersson,Pedro Cano,Pedro Cano,Munir Shahjahan,Munir Shahjahan,Cindy Ippoliti,Cindy Ippoliti,Elihu H. Estey,Elihu H. Estey,John McMannis,John McMannis,James Gajewski,James Gajewski,Richard E. Champlin,Marcos de Lima +25 more
TL;DR: Unrelated donor transplantation is a treatment option for older patients with myeloid malignancies and the results in this cohort of patients are comparable with those reported in younger patients with similarly advanced disease.
