Identification of megakaryocyte precursors in peripheral blood stem cell collections from normal donors
TL;DR: To quantify subpopulations of CD34‐positive cells in peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) collections of normal, colony‐stimulating factor‐granulocyte) (G‐CSF) primed donors that might represent megakaryocyte (MK) precursors, and to determine whether there is a statistical association between the dose transfused and the time course of the recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Large-Scale Preparation of Human Anti—Third-Party Veto Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes Depleted of Graft-Versus-Host Reactivity: A New Source for Graft Facilitating Cells in Bone Marrow Transplantation
Shraga Aviner,Xin Yao,Rita Krauthgamer,Yehudit Gan,Rinat Goren-Arbel,Tirza Klein,Antonio Tabilio,John McMannis,Richard E. Champlin,Massimo F. Martelli,Esther Bachar-Lustig,Yair Reisner +11 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that human anti-third-party CTLs afford a new source of veto cells that are depleted of potential graft-versus-host-reactive clones that could potentially be used to facilitate engraftment of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Eltrombopag for Post-Transplant Thrombocytopenia: Results of Phase II Randomized Double Blind Placebo Controlled Trial
Uday R. Popat,Genevieve Ray,Roland L. Bassett,Man-Yin C Poon,Benigno C. Valdez,Sergej Konoplev,Sairah Ahmed,Amin M. Alousi,Borje S. Andersson,Qaiser Bashir,Stefan O. Ciurea,Chitra Hosing,Roy B. Jones,Partow Kebriaei,Issa F. Khouri,Stella K. Kim,Yago Nieto,Amanda Olson,Betul Oran,Simrit Parmar,Muzaffar H. Qazilbash,Katy Rezvani,Nina Shah,Elizabeth J. Shpall,Richard E. Champlin +24 more
TL;DR: Eltrombopag improves platelet count in patients with post-transplant thrombocytopenia, and a Bayesian adaptive algorithm in which the probability of randomization to each arm was based upon the ongoing response rate is compared.
Journal ArticleDOI
With first successful allogeneic transplantations of apheresis-derived hematopoietic progenitor cells reported, can the recruitment of volunteer matched, unrelated stem cell donors be expanded substantially? [1]
Journal ArticleDOI
Proceedings from the Second Haploidentical Stem Cell Transplantation Symposium—Haplo2014, San Francisco, California, December 4, 2014
Monzr M. Al Malki,Mary M. Horowitz,Rupert Handgretinger,Wing Leung,Denis-Claude Roy,Xiao-Jun Huang,Ephraim J. Fuchs,Franco Locatelli,Didier Blaise,Shin Mineishi,Massimo F. Martelli,Jeffrey S. Miller,Carl H. June,Hui sheng Ai,Leo Luznik,Domenico Mavilio,Enrico Lugli,Marcel R.M. van den Brink,Richard E. Champlin,Stefan O. Ciurea +19 more
TL;DR: This symposium has focused on some of the most promising methods to control alloreactivity in this form of transplantation and application of cellular therapy to prevent disease relapse after transplantation, as well as understanding immunologic reconstitution and foreseeable approaches to improve immune recovery after transplation.
