Tanshinol ameliorates CCl 4 -induced liver fibrosis in rats through the regulation of Nrf2/HO-1 and NF-κB/IκBα signaling pathway

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that tanshinol has protective effect on CCl4-induced liver fibrosis via inhibiting oxidative stress and inflammation, which may be associated with the regulation of nuclear factor erythroid2-related factor 2/hemeoxygenase-a and nuclear factor kappa B/inhibitor of kappa A alpha signaling pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI

Origin of Shape Resonance in Second-Harmonic Generation from Metallic Nanohole Arrays

TL;DR: The physical origin of the shape resonance effect of second-harmonic generation from periodic arrays of subwavelength rectangular air hole with various aspect ratios perforated in gold thin films is clarified and a nonlinear coupled-mode theory is set up to solve energy conversion within the nanoscale air hole.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thin-film composite hollow fibre membrane for low pressure organic solvent nanofiltration

TL;DR: In this article, a polyamide thin film layer was synthesized via interfacial polymerization, by circulating the reactant monomers including polyethyleneimine (PEI), piperazine (PIP) and trimesoyl chloride (TMC) through the hollow fibre lumen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulating the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment to enhance breast cancer immunotherapy using pH-responsive hybrid membrane-coated nanoparticles.

TL;DR: In this article, a pH-responsive co-delivery platform was developed for metformin (Met), a known immuno-metabolic modulator, and short interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting fibrinogen-like protein 1 mRNA (siFGL1), using a hybrid biomimetic membrane (from macrophages and cancer cells)-camouflaged poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asymmetric Synthesis of CF3- and Indole-Containing Thiochromanes via a Squaramide-Catalyzed Michael-Aldol Reaction

TL;DR: The method affords a series of 2-CF3-2-indole-substituted thiochromanes featuring a CF3-containing quaternary stereocenter in excellent yields, diastereoselectivity, and enantioselectivities.
