TL;DR: The data indicate the presence of association of TRAF6 with SLE, consistent with the previous report of association with RA, and provide further support for the involvement of TRAf6 in the pathogenesis of autoimmunity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the associations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[ OH] D; vitamin D) deficiency and increased cardiovascular risk factors and CV disease (CVD) has been shown in general population studies.

TL;DR: In some patients with lupus, MI may develop even before the diagnosis of SLE or shortly thereafter, suggesting that there may be a link between autoimmune inflammation and atherosclerosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The number of candidate genes that have been shown to be associated with SLE is expanded and highlights potential of pathway-based approaches for gene discovery.
