Journal Article
Cancer screening in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus
Sasha Bernatsky,Glinda S. Cooper,Chris Mill,Rosalind Ramsey-Goldman,Ann E. Clarke,Christian A. Pineau +5 more
TL;DR: Among the SLE patients, non-whites, those with lower education, and those with higher disease damage scores were less likely to undergo cervical Pap testing, suggesting that appropriate cancer screening may be overlooked in patients with SLE.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNA-damaging autoantibodies and cancer: The lupus butterfly theory
Philip W. Noble,Sasha Bernatsky,Ann E. Clarke,David A. Isenberg,Rosalind Ramsey-Goldman,James E. Hansen +5 more
TL;DR: The known associations between SLE, DNA damage and cancer, and a theory for the effects of DNA-damaging autoantibodies on SLE pathophysiology and cancer risk are reviewed and proposed.
Journal Article
Association study of Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) and Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) polymorphisms in systemic lupus erythematosus
F. Yesim Demirci,Susan Manzi,Rosalind Ramsey-Goldman,Margaret Kenney,Penny Shaw,Charmayne M Dunlop-Thomas,Amy H. Kao,Elisa Y. Rhew,Franklin A. Bontempo,Candace M. Kammerer,M. Ilyas Kamboh +10 more
TL;DR: The results do not indicate a major influence of these putative functional TLR SNP on the susceptibility to (or protection from) SLE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical status and cardiovascular risk profile of adults with a history of juvenile dermatomyositis.
Micah J. Eimer,Wendy J. Brickman,Wendy J. Brickman,Roopa Seshadri,Rosalind Ramsey-Goldman,David D. McPherson,Beverly Smulevitz,Neil J. Stone,Lauren M. Pachman,Lauren M. Pachman +9 more
TL;DR: Adults who had JDM, 29 years after disease onset, had progressive disease and increased cardiovascular risk factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for gene–gene epistatic interactions among susceptibility loci for systemic lupus erythematosus
Travis K. Hughes,Adam Adler,Jennifer A. Kelly,Kenneth M. Kaufman,Adrienne H. Williams,Carl D. Langefeld,Elizabeth E. Brown,Graciela S. Alarcón,Robert P. Kimberly,Jeffrey C. Edberg,Rosalind Ramsey-Goldman,Michelle Petri,Susan A. Boackle,Anne M. Stevens,John D. Reveille,Elena Sánchez,Javier Martín,Timothy B. Niewold,Luis M. Vilá,R. Hal Scofield,Gary S. Gilkeson,Patrick M. Gaffney,Lindsey A. Criswell,Kathy L. Moser,Joan T. Merrill,Chaim O. Jacob,Betty P. Tsao,Judith A. James,Timothy J. Vyse,Marta E. Alarcón-Riquelme,John B. Harley,Bruce C. Richardson,Amr H. Sawalha +32 more
TL;DR: Evidence for gene-gene epistasis in systemic lupus erythematosus is provided and a role for genetic interaction contributing to the complexity of l upus heritability is supported.
